New season loveliness form Mango

The Summer heatwave seems to be over and although it's still somewhat humid on the tube, I can sometimes feel a chill in the air on my early morning commute. I've been through my wardrobe, my Winter boots are at the ready and I've stocked up on September issues to see what the season has in store.

The new season preview by Mango tends to always catch my eye and this season is no different, it's all leather, plaid, oversized coats and denim. Definitely my kind of thing.

Here are some of my favourite looks (which may, or may not end up in my Winter wardrobe).

Looking ahead to Spring

It's hard to believe, as the snowflakes fall softly outside, that Christmas Spring is just around the corner, but if the magazines and shops had their way we'd be fighting through the blizzard to hit the high street to pick up our warm weather essentials. After all, you never know just when that elusive heatwave will hit.

As you all know, I'm not shopping at the moment (and it's going very well) so no amount of newness splashed across the fashion pages can tempt me to part with my hard earned cash. But that doesn't mean I haven't been spotting some gorgeous new trends I'm keen to try - and some beautiful pieces I'm hoping may still be around when the shopping ban is over.

Mango is a brand I don't immediately gravitate towards and I'm not sure why. It may be because in a similar way to Zara, they don't shout about their new collections or offer lots of discounts and promotions. They simply whisper about the amazing items they have in store and this can sometimes mean they become drowned out by other retailers on the market. Which is a shame, because whenever I do venture inside or online, my shopping basket is often full before I have a chance to say "What brand is this again?".

Mango have done it again for Spring with a collection full of gorgeous textures and fabrics that scream expensive but have a budget friendly price tag. Here are a few of my favourite looks from their most recent catalogue.

A Mango Winter: a preview

I know it may feel like Summer hasn't even arrived but with all the press days and previews lately my fashionable thoughts have already turned to the season ahead. I so much prefer dressing in the Winter. I love layers, coats, scarves, gloves, boots, basically anything that enables me to stay cosy and warm when the weather turns cooler (although I HATE roll necks - just someone wearing one around me makes me feel uncomfortable). The Mango collection for Autumn Winter looks set to be amazing, with lots of quirky details and strong tailoring (on a more casual note, I already have my eye on the khaki parka with cream trim, see below).

A Mango summer

I must admit I've never really bought anything from Mango but since I moved to West London I have popped into the store in Westfield a few times, mostly following their gorgeous campaign featuring Kate Moss in that jumper. I tried it on, I didn't look like Kate Moss (obvs) but I was impressed with what was on offer in-store and online. Their new summer campaign has me even more keen for some warmer weather (just less rain even would be a start) and cracking out the St Moritz ASAP.

I'm also pretty excited for the Autumn/Winter collection which is available from July - watch this space for details.
