Looks I'm loving

Paired down chic is something that I'm always trying to master. That ability to throw together a minimalist outfit and look achingly cool is something that I believe is only achievable if you were truly born stylish. Which I think is the case with today's Look I'm loving.

Victoria Tornegren, a 21-year-old blogger from Sweden has a wardrobe to die for and is somewhat of a master of the muted colour palette. It's definitely a look I'm going to be trying to emulate. Here's some of my favourites of Victoria's latest looks.

Looks I'm loving

I'm currently in the midst of New York outfit planning (packing for me is normally like an elaborate game of Tetris) so am looking everywhere for inspiration. I've been referring back to old Looks I've Loved and also trawling Lookbook for outfits involving flat shoes and lots of layering.

My latest find is Christine R from the Netherlands, I love her style - wrapped up warm but still ultra chic. I'm definitely adding her to my inspiration list.

Looks I'm loving

Today marks a first for Lost & Found - today's look comes courtsey of a man. That's right, you heard me.

Now, The Boy in my life does not care so much for fashion (as was recently documented in Tesco magazine) but that statement couldn't be further from the truth for Adam Gallagher, an incredibly stylish 21-year-old mens fashion blogger and stylist from California. I came across Adam's look on Lookbook, loved what I saw and wanted to share some of his looks with you here today.

Adam has developed his own sense of style that seems to grow on a daily basis - with each look drawing different inspirations from the last - here's some of my favourites.

Looks I'm loving

Today's look comes courtesy of Rachel Marie Iwanyszyn, a 24-year-old aspiring model from Chicago.

Those who follow this feature will know I'm a fan of all things retro inspired - particularly hats, and Rachel Marie's look pretty much epitomises all that I love about seventies hippie style. Here's some of my favourites of Rachel Marie's ensembles.

Looks I'm loving

This weeks look comes courtesy of my latest style crush Lucy, a 23-year-old girl from Arnhem in the Netherlands.

As you all know I am a huge fan of anyone who can master the art (and it is an art in my eyes) of successful layering and Lucy is certainly ahead of the crowd with this trend - as you can see below. Her style is comfortable yet fashionable and most of these looks I could see myself styling up for work or the weekend.

Lucy's gorgeous hairstyle also makes me want to get my fringe cut back in (yay or nay peeps?) which The Boy is dead against. But when did I ever listen to what he had to say when it comes to fashion and beauty, so watch this space.

All images can be found on Lucy's Lookbook page

I've also been reading Lucy's great blog Lovely by Lucy which chronicles her life and style and checking out her latest looks over on Lookbook - if you love fashion, I suggest you check them out too.

Looks I'm loving

I realised recently that it's been literally months since I last wrote a Looks I'm Loving post. It's not that I've not been seeing inspirational looks on other blogs and on Lookbook, I've just simply been busy doing other things (marathon training, weddings, hen do's, etc). I love putting together this type of feature though, as it really helps me think outside the box when considering what to wear for the week ahead.

The other evening I stumbled across the Lookbook page of Anni, a 23 year old blogger from Germany. Anni's style is pretty similar to mine: she loves a blazer, a skinny jean, a killer heel and an oversize clutch bag, just like me but there's something about the way Anni puts these ensembles together that really keeps me interested in what she'll come up with next.

All images found here

I actually own the bright pink/orange ensemble that Anni's wearing in the third set of pictures but I have the skirt instead of trousers (from Primark of all places!) and seeing these pieces teamed with white accessories has given me some new ideas on how to wear them in the future. And I'm already attempting to hunt down a similar necklace.

Looks I'm loving

I've always had a soft spot for seventies inspired fashion. Maybe it's because flared jeans just really suit my shape or because I love a good hat, either way, my style often seems to lean towards a seventies twist.

This weeks look I'm loving belongs to Louise Ebel, a 23 year old art history student from Paris, who also often seems to lean towards retro styling. I love Louise's sense of style, she's really eclectic and has no fear in switching from one time period to the next (although most of these pics are seventies inspired, she also often posts looks that seem strongly influenced by the 1920s).

Looks I'm loving: I wish I was a punk rock girl

This week I'm feeling a bit rock chick in my weekly look I'm loving. I used to dress a little bit more punk (believe it or not) back in my youth and even had pink and green hair at one point (a strong look). I'd like to think that if I was growing up today I'd have more of an urban, cool take on the rocker vibe, basically I'd want to dress exactly like nineteen-year-old Taylin from Montreal, all dark lashes, short shorts and big hair.

Find out what Taylin loves over at her Tumblr, Down the Rabbit Hole or on Lookbook.

Looks I'm loving

Today I'm loving both the fashion style and artistic talents of  Xiaoxi (Nancy) Zhang, an artist, designer and illustrator who lives in Germany. I came across Xiaoxi on Lookbook and loved how she combines images of her fashion style coupled with illustrations. Drawing is something I'd love to do more of but at the moment I simply have no time! I'm hoping to take a sketchbook with me to France this summer though to try and capture some landscapes.

Just a quick post today as I'm off out with The Boy for a date in Greenwich. I've only ever been once so am not sure what to expect, however he assures me I'll like it there and that's good enough for me. I'm hoping to make a few last minute purchases before my self-imposed no shopping ban begins in April (although I've already been paid, today is still TECHNICALLY March - it's all about the technicalities).

Looks I'm loving

I've been trying out some new looks of late, mixing a spot of vintage with some new season finds (alas, the no shopping pledge has fallen by the wayside) but still always return to my standard look: skinny jeans, loose top, smart blazer and killer heels. It's the look I always come back to because I know that if I put on this combination (regardless of colour) I'll feel fantastic and ready to face the world. I remember vividly the first time I felt good in what I was wearing after I started losing weight (three and a half stone and counting): Next jeans, H&M draped khaki top, black blazer and high summer sandals, and boy did I feel good. If I could bottle that feeling and sell it I'd be a rich woman. In the months that have passed I've tried to recreate that feeling and the only time I seem able to get close is when I put on a trusty blazer and a pair of skinnies, nothing beats the first rush of weight loss. I'll always be a curvy girl and I just think that this ensemble is destined to become my day-in day-out look, and what's wrong with that when an outfit makes you feel good.

Someone whose style I really admire is Samm, a 25 year old fashion photographer and blogger from the Netherlands. She always looks fantastic, with her clean looks with a quirky edge, such as a chunky knit scarf or some fashion-forward footwear. Samm also has a fantastic blog called After Style Comes Fashion, which is fast becoming one of my must reads.

(I'm also loving Samm's summer style, which is getting me in the mood for some warmer weather)
